On September 29, thirteen Republican senators on this site voted to keep a Trump administration rule that makes Obamacare coverage harder to get. HHS itself estimates the rule could cost 1.2 million to 2 million people their health insurance.
The House passed a resolution ordering U.S. forces out of the Iran war in July. The Senate finally voted on it September 24 and it failed 49-50. Fourteen senators on our report cards voted no — including Jon Husted, who said two days earlier the war 'needs to come to an end as quickly as possible.'
On April 16 a war powers resolution failed 213-214. On May 14 the next one deadlocked 212-212, and a tie fails. Either one needed exactly one Republican to switch. Only Thomas Massie, who has no page here, voted yes both times.
H.R. 10377 would drop every noncitizen from the count used to hand out House seats, force a new apportionment before the 2028 election, and put a citizenship question on every future census. The Fourteenth Amendment — which Clyde's filing cites as its authority — says to count 'the whole number of persons in each State.'
On September 16 the House passed the PROOF Act, 217-207. It orders states to turn over whatever Medicaid, SNAP and other benefit records Attorney General Todd Blanche asks for in writing, with no judge involved. A federal court had already blocked the Trump administration from cutting food stamp funding to states that refused to hand over recipient data. 185 of the members who voted yes have report cards on this site.
On September 15 the House voted 220-204 to end the war with Iran — the third time since June. Republicans voted 203 to 7 against it, and 180 of the members who voted no are on our report cards. The same day, the Congressional Budget Office put the war's direct cost at $38.1 billion and said it will push inflation higher into 2027.

Power plants that burn coal, gas and oil put out about a quarter of all the climate pollution in the United States.
Biden's EPA estimated the power plant carbon rules would prevent up to 1,200 early deaths and 360,000 cases of asthma symptoms in 2035 alone. On September 14, Lee Zeldin announced they're gone. Fifteen Republicans we track cheered the repeal in the EPA's own press release; four signed a letter asking the EPA to hurry up.
