When they got sick with cancer and respiratory illnesses, 26 Republicans voted to block the James Zadroga Act, which guaranteed their medical care — and when the bill was cut nearly in half to save money, 13 of them, including Jim Jordan and Steve Scalise, voted no again. Those same politicians now hold the most powerful seats in Congress, where funding for sick responders is still stalled.
