Richard Hudson, a top House Republican, says he isn't worried about the cost of living because voters "remember $9 gas." Nobody in America ever paid $9 a gallon: the all-time record national average was barely over $5, and North Carolina never even hit $5. He also claimed Republicans "brought prices down" while gas had surged nearly 60 percent, and North Carolina diesel broke all-time records, driving up the cost of groceries. MAGA politicians like Richard Hudson are inventing numbers to pretend the cost of living isn't crushing working families.
