Carlos Gimenez has been in Congress since 2021 and has introduced 50 bills. Not one has become law. The only one to pass both the House and Senate would have protected a tribal village in the Everglades from flooding, and Donald Trump vetoed it out of spite because the tribe had sued over an immigration detention center on their doorstep. When the House tried to override the veto, 188 Republicans, 16 of them from Florida, voted to kill it, and Gimenez didn't even speak up to defend his own bill. With Republicans controlling the House, Senate and White House, he still can't deliver anything for Florida.
