After leaving Congress, Mike Rogers moved to a $1.7 million Cape Coral estate, registered to vote in Florida and claimed a tax break on it as his primary residence. To run for Senate in Michigan he registered at his sister-in-law's house and bought a tiny cottage; after losing, he went right back to Florida, did weeks of campaign interviews from the mansion, told a Michigan radio audience his "whole life is here" while sitting in it, then quietly pulled it off the market. Michigan deserves a representative who actually lives here.
