Mike Rogers tells Michigan voters he put himself through college building Chrysler Sebring convertibles on an auto plant assembly line. Chrysler didn't start making the Sebring until 1995, when Rogers had already left college, served in the FBI, and was sitting in the Michigan State Senate. When caught, he switched his story to the LeBaron, but records show he worked at an aftermarket shop modifying cars somebody else had already built. Real auto workers call it stolen valor, and point to his actual career in Congress voting for bad trade deals that shipped their jobs overseas.
